The legal community in Southern California is mourning the loss of Andrew Haden, a respected federal prosecutor and two-time acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California, who was found dead Wednesday inside the U.S. Attorney’s Office in downtown San Diego.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded to the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building after initially receiving a report of a missing man. Investigators entered the office out of what authorities described as “an abundance of caution” and discovered Haden deceased inside the building. Police have stated that no foul play is suspected. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
